EVcount was born in the Amsterdam University Medical Center at the intersection of academic innovation and clinical need. With eight scientists from the Laboratory of Experimental Clinical Chemistry and the Department of Biomedical Engineering & Physics, we set out to address a persistent challenge in biomedical science: the accurate and reproducible quantification of extracellular vesicles in biofluids.
Reliable EV quantification requires expertise about the sample, the sample handling, the detection technique, and the data analyses. Over the past decades, we have developed this expertise and set up a multidisciplinary team consisting of biologists, doctors, engineers, metrologists, and physicists: the EVcount team.
